The Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) in response to the widespread public appeals, has revised the age limit for applicants seeking teaching positions. The new age limit for eligible candidates has been increased from 35 to 45 years.
The initial advertisement, released on 2nd September 2024, had set the age limit at 35 years. However, following feedback from the public, the Board has decided to extend the age limit by ten years, allowing more qualified candidates to apply for the teaching roles.
A statement from the Benue SUBEB, issued by its Information Officer, Akese Emmanuella, confirmed that all other requirements for the teaching positions remain unchanged as earlier advertised. The decision aims to accommodate a broader range of applicants, particularly those who may have been excluded due to age constraints.
“The Board encourages all interested and qualified candidates who meet the new age requirement of 45 years to apply,” the statement read.
This is expected to increase the pool of experienced educators, which will, in turn, contribute to improving the quality of basic education in Benue State.
The Government of Benue State remains grateful for the continued support and cooperation from the public as it strives to uplift educational standards across the state.
